Energy Saving Week – time to turn up the heat!
27 10 2008 - 11:49:26 AM
Today marks the end of the twelfth Energy
Saving Week and we felt it was a good time to review our own green/life
balance! As a vending business, energy is a key focus for us at Mars Drinks –
ensuring we offer energy saving drink vending machines and helping our
customers save money.
According to new research from the Energy Saving Trust, 50% of us say we would be greener if only we had more time. Apparently, we’re all too busy at work to do our bit.
As part of the research, 6,000 adults across five European countries
were surveyed. A third of the Brits said that their job is the main reason they
do not have time to be green. However, the research also shows that 48% of British
people ‘waste more than 10 minutes a week waiting for the kettle to boil!’
Imagine if we could all save nearly ten hours a year – and still enjoy a
reviving cup of tea or coffee while at work.
At Mars Drinks, we’re focused on bringing you efficient hot drinks
vending products. The FLAVIA® Creation 400™ has been shown in an independent
test to be 12% more efficient than the average for a range of leading household
kettles tested. More FLAVIA innovations include; only heating enough water for
a few hot drinks at a time and heating water to just the right temperature for
the selected hot drink.
On a larger scale, our KLIX Outlook is designed to be energy saving by
keeping water hot for longer with an insulated hot water tank – again using
less energy.
And it’s not just our products we’re focused on. Today, our Basingstoke team will be welcoming our Local Environmental Care Department to come into our office roof garden to learn more about energy efficiency in our daily lives.
We’re delighted to support the Energy Saving Week, but we know this
should be a 365 day event and we can all do our bit. Now pick your favourite
KLIX or FLAVIA drink and relax knowing you are playing a part.
