What is the mean time between failures of your vending machines?

Mean time between failures, or MTBF, isn’t something you’ve probably come across before, but it’s an industry term and if you drop it into a question during an initial sales meeting look out for a reaction. If your sales rep starts to visibly wilt and bluster away giving you a direct answer then wrap up the meeting and walk away (or tell him to).

The most reliable machines can go 80 weeks ‘mean time between failures’, now, they all measure mtbf, so if they can’t quote it – why not?

Deputy

Machines breakdown, that's a universal fact. It's got more to do with what your operator does when it happens.

A good local operator may be able to get to you in a couple of hours.

...getting to you is one thing. What about the right spares?
